A celebrated Zagreb artist unveils his latest interior masterpiece, blending artful layers with breathtaking Adriatic views.

When it comes to feeling and sense for aesthetics, art, and creativity, one name always stands out on the domestic scene - that of Saša Šekoranja, a Zagreb artist and florist whose creations take the breath away of everyone who follows him. He has now once again shown and proven all his talent after redecorating an apartment on the waterfront in Rovinj, of course in his recognizable style.

Saša showed his followers on his Instagram profile what the apartment looked like before and what it looks like now, and received a series of compliments. He explained what ideas guided him in the renovation and what the key parts of the apartment are.

"I would like to show you an apartment in Rovinj, right on the waterfront. The apartment is very small in terms of square footage, I created a new interior in it. I will show you how it looked before and how it looks now. Really, the most important thing in this apartment is the view - that is the real asset of the apartment. Here is the window before and after the renovation. The space is very small and I built it up in layers - from selected wallpapers, curtains, pictures. When I enter it every time, I feel like I‘ve entered a little candy with a perfect view of the island of St. Catherine.

I put up many of my paintings on the walls, but also those of authors I really love. The floor is white as if you‘re coming onto a boat, with this view it feels like you are on a boat. The covers are white and easily washable and replaceable, so it‘s a real summer apartment, where you can enjoy yourself freely. Even in the bedroom, there are layers, I even put a picture over a picture above the bed. Of course, there are already well-known tricks with mirrors that definitely enlarge the space, and what is especially dear to me in this room is that I put antique wooden ship trunks with original fittings on the nightstands. The bathroom is accessed from the bedroom. It‘s a very small space that is, above all, smartly laid out, and then with layers of mirrors, light, and stone, this atmosphere was created.

Every project I start is created in my head and then I transfer it into a little notebook as inspiration, and that becomes something from which a project like this and the realization of the interior actually emerges," explained Saša.
