Twelve local venues serve up reinvented classics and seasonal specialties in a celebration of Krk’s unique food heritage.

The town of Krk is known for its rich history and natural beauty, but Krk also tells an authentic gastro story. The original Krk cuisine speaks the language of tradition, local ingredients, and love for heritage – from juicy Krk lamb and handmade šurlice pasta, to prosciutto, island cheeses, and olive oil, all the way to seafood delicacies and a glass of Vrbnička Žlahtina wine that rounds out the experience. The Tourist Board of the Town of Krk has therefore, ahead of the main tourist season, prepared an attractive promotional campaign "Travel to Taste Krk/Put do okusa Krka", celebrating the island’s rich gastronomic heritage.

On this occasion, Krk caterers have created special promotional menus based on authentic recipes and seasonal ingredients, so until the end of June, in twelve hospitality venues in the town of Krk, visitors have the opportunity to enjoy dishes that blend traditional recipes with a modern approach to cuisine. This initiative gains additional value ahead of 2026, when Kvarner will bear the title of European Region of Gastronomy. That is why, organizers point out, the campaign "Travel to Taste Krk/Put do okusa Krka" fits perfectly into the promotion of Kvarner’s eno-gastronomic identity, highlighting local products, skills, and heritage.
