One of the favorite September events, the Tunalicious Festival, which for years has successfully combined a passion for tuna, gastronomy, and entertainment, returns to Poreč next week, from September 8th to 14th, with its richest gastronomic program yet.
Tunalicious Street Food will run from September 11th to 13th, bringing creative delicacies that celebrate the sea and Adriatic tuna. Visitors can expect a rich offering of street food creations—Street Food by Lukas with tuna burgers, tacos, and bruschettas, Skusha with tuna, mackerel, and octopus burgers and light seafood salads, Farabuto with special combinations of tuna and sea bass burgers and sardine and red mullet sandwiches, and Tunaholic Fish Bar with its already well-known burgers and creative seafood combinations. Authentic Istrian drinks, wines, and cocktails from the Rossi distillery and winery will accompany the seafood specialties, while extra refreshment will be provided by the Valamar bar.
At the same time, as part of Tuna Restaurant Week, from September 8th to 14th, numerous Poreč restaurants including Cardo, Casa Manzolin by Sv. Nikola, Cheese Bar Barolin, Chili Fusion Streetfood, Cotton Club, Fora Le Porte, Gourmet, Grano Duro Istra, Grano Duro Lanterna, Hrast, Konoba Ćakula, Martis Restaurant, Niki’s, Peterokutna kula, Pijat, Restaurant Ritzi, Spinnaker Restaurant, Sv. Nikola, Trattoria La Pentola Lanterna, and Tunaholic Fish Bar will offer gastronomy lovers innovative dishes prepared with Adriatic tuna at promotional prices.
On the terrace of Divino restaurant, on September 12th and 13th, there will be a special sushi offering led by the chef of NOMU restaurant, a well-known chain with locations in Zagreb, Primošten, and Novigrad. Sushi will be available at promotional prices alongside the restaurant’s regular menu, while on Saturday, September 13th, the program will be further enriched by a tuna filleting demonstration. The evening atmosphere on both days will be enhanced by live music. All Tuna Restaurant Week menus are available on the official festival website.
A special gastronomic experience is brought by the Spinnaker Gourmet Stage on September 11th at the Spinnaker restaurant. The evening dedicated to Adriatic tuna will be led by chef Marina Gaši, who in her restaurant Marina in Novigrad practices a zero-waste philosophy and works exclusively with Adriatic produce, while her menu will be accompanied by top wines from Tomac winery, pioneers of biodynamic and amphora sparkling wine production from Plešivica.
The Tunalicious Festival in Poreč is also preparing a great entertainment program. On the Poreč waterfront from September 11th to 13th, well-known performers Master 5 Band and Crvena jabuka, Febra and Let 3, Le Monde, and Denis & Denis will perform.
This year again, as part of the Tunalicious Festival, Poreč will host TunIstra, the international big game fishing competition, which attracts sport fishing enthusiasts from all over the world. The unique combination of seafood delicacies, street food, fine dining, music performances, and sporting adrenaline will once again turn Poreč into the epicenter of entertainment and gastronomy.
This event is organized by the MPG agency in cooperation with the Big Game 4 Tuna sports fishing club, while the general sponsor is Croatia’s largest tourism company, Valamar. Support is also provided by local sponsors City of Poreč, Poreč Tourist Board, Funtana Municipality Tourist Board, Istria County, Istria County Tourist Board, and the Croatian National Tourist Board, as well as silver sponsor Poreč Port Authority.
