Josip Tadić’s fruit-inspired creations are now available by preorder, delighting pastry fans with their lifelike appearance and flavor.

Josip Tadić, a young pastry enthusiast from Zadar is now finally ready to offer his sweet, realistic desserts to a wider audience. As he announced on his social media recently, he is starting to sell his desserts, and the whole process works so that desserts are ordered several days in advance, with Tadić announcing what is available, and the handover takes place on Saturdays.

"Currently, I make about 20 pieces once a week and am monitoring how sales will go and whether there is any interest at all. I first introduced the muscat apple, which costs 8 euros per piece, and I would tell everyone interested to contact me up to a week in advance," Josip told us in a brief conversation.

His apple consists of gel made from cold-pressed apple juice, cubes of fresh apples, white chocolate and apple ganache, a crispy chocolate shell, shiny glaze, and everything is seasoned with nutmeg.

Tadić started making realistic desserts, those that resemble real fruit, five years ago, when he decided he needed to spend less time playing video games, sold his computer, and jumped into something completely different – making desserts. The main credit for the realistic fruit goes to his sisters, who gave him the molds as a Christmas present and, in fact, pushed him to take the idea of making such desserts more seriously.

"When you make your first fruit, you copy someone else and are just discovering how it all works, you don‘t have your own philosophy. The second time, you already understand what you‘re doing and where you‘re making mistakes, the third time you get some perspective, the fourth time you have your own direction, and now, today, the goal of making them is completely different, as is my whole philosophy," was his answer when we once asked him if his role model was the Frenchman Cedric Grolet, the pastry chef who became world-famous precisely because of his fruit-shaped desserts.

In addition to creamy desserts, Tadić is now a true master at preparing croissants and puff pastry baked goods, so to the delight of people in Zadar, we hope he will soon start selling this type of treat as well. You can find more details about everything on his Instagram profile.
